From search and rescue, to orientation flights, to model rocketry, Civil Air Patrol provides the opportunity to grow and become the person you want to be!

The Morgantown Composite Squadron meets on Monday evenings, from 6:30 - 9:00 PM, at the Civil Air Patrol building on the grounds of the Morgantown Municipal Airport.  We hope  you'll come see us soon!

From the Squadron Commander

Richard Judy Headshot
The Morgantown Composite Squadron has served the Morgantown area since its inception in 1941. Our primary mission is providing our local U.S. Air Force commanders a trained civilian auxiliary to call upon for non-combat domestic support missions. In addition, the Morgantown Composite Squadron is West Virginia’s premier resource for delivering the following community services:

  1. Aerospace Education for all ages
  2. Cadet Programs and associated activities for our area youth
  3. Emergency Response Services primarily in the area of Search and Rescue operations

Our unit of professionally trained Adult Volunteers and our Youth Cadet Corps numbers approximately 50 members, and participate actively in and around West Virginia. We organize trips to the Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC and the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, OH. We also participate in the various practice search and rescue operations throughout the state. We attend various airshows and assist other organizations when needed.

Our building is located on the grounds of Walter L. “Bill” Hart Field (Morgantown Municipal Airport) in Morgantown, WV. If using your GPS, enter 225 Hart Field Road as the destination.

The Squadron is always looking for new members interested in joining our premier national community service organization. Whether you are a youth or parent looking for a challenging and rewarding extra-curricular activity based on the ideals of our parent organization, the United States Air Force, or you are an adult (whether or not you have any previous military, aviation, aeronautical, or search and rescue experience) who desires to make a difference in our local community, we invite you to contact us to learn how you can join our team.

Our members meet on Monday evenings from 6:30pm until 9:00pm at our building located on the Airport grounds. Unless otherwise noted, all of our meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to come and learn about what CAP can offer you! If visiting for the first time, please use the “Contact Us” link to let us know that you are coming.
